TRUE NORTH
Though more than sands of all shores, stars are numbered
Such kind of great power left all men dumb-founded
Even billions of light years, of endless travel
God's magnificent reach, can no mind unravel
Less than insignificant specks are we in space
What kind of love He imparted to us by grace?
To inherit all things, what lofty grandeur is that?
To puny humans, who are much less than a gnat.
True North is to God and His "high" calling of life
Not to selfish, unrighteousness and endless strife
Not hooked to vices, worldly lusts or broken homes
Nor warring nations, kingdoms, or quest for thrones
The Ultimate Mind gave us a North Guiding Star
Take hold of His promises, that He's not that far
Let us focus our eyes to that only True Goal –
To the Kingdom! With all mind, heart, body and soul!
*****
"To who God is, His majesty is boundless
To what God is, His love defies all senses
To when God is, counting time is meaningless
To where God is, the light years would be endless
For why God is, that is our ultimate quest."

A COUNSELOR'S CREED
Open your mouth with wisdom and correct with understanding
Understand the message beneath the camper's action and speech
Never underestimate the capability of the young ones under your wing
Set a sterling example of what a Christian person should be
Exemplify excellence in everything that you do. Go the extra mile.
Lead the dorm even when you are down and beat.
Often give praise and lavish them with positive interaction from you
Respect begets respect. Let them respect you because they see you are worth respecting.

HOW I LOVE THEE
This is dedicated to my husband :-)
I love thee, not just because of thy dashing sight,
But for the man I see, beneath the external might;
A heart the Creator made; strong and passionate,
A tough man He gave, yet with a heart full of faith.
Humility, chivalry, honest commitment,
The makings of the man, whom his Master has sent;
Blessed is he, whose character makes God his core,
Yes, wonderful is the man whom I just adore.
I'm a happy bride-to-be, man I've yearned so long,
Whose heart is kind and rich, who loves so deep and strong;
As an afternoon rain meets a hot summer day,
Your love will refresh, and will quench my thirst away.
Love sure grows stronger and fuller, a gem to last,
A knot that keeps getting tighter, as years go pass;
A language that's revealed, through eyes so dark and deep,
God knows just the meaning, of the sure love we keep.
But it's not solely on thee that make our love burn bright,
But by the utmost love from the Father of lights;
Our Ultimate Lover, Master, Savior and Friend,
Gave me a man, David, whom His own heart did send.

HOLD THAT JEWEL IN YOUR PALM
O ye chosen children, we are the youth
Of a billion stars, sanctified by truth.
We've gathered again, we separate once more
Hailing from islands, between sea and shore.
We had made our place in the lush green of Eden
No, our camping days will never be forgotten.
O what shall we bring? In our hearts to keep?
The lessons we've learned, so dear and so deep.
Let it be like jewels, which we carry on our way
To remind us of the gift, we never can repay.
Though we'd be far from each other, a thousand miles away
Let not our priceless jewel, ever be dull or dismayed.
Yes, our jewel too is likened unto the Spirit, the power from above,
In which it first drew us all together, into the bonding friendship of love.
It comforts, it guides, and it makes us strong,
When we lose hope, and gray clouds come along.
So I say, hold on to that jewel; clasp it in your palm.
Coz that will be your life, forever, let it be your psalm.

SONNET OF MINE
Dim is the night, in sweet silence I wait,
Faint whisper of song, the hummingbird's tale;
Velvety dark sky, the stars shim ‘ring paint,
The expanse of space, God's hands it entail;
The ocean reflects, the moon oh so pale,
The calmness it brings, like sweet love in May.
The heartbeat of love soothes a knight a-sail.
Love profoundness, can't be found in a day,
If forever it will be, "Wait… I pray",
If a lifetime waits, then so, let it be.
My dear love, you know I'll see you one day
Oh young man dear, my love's true, can't you see?
This sweetest tear is yours; I'll let it fall,
Once you're here, and I'll be yours… with my all.

RECAPTURING TRUE VALUES
We live in a world of war and waste,
People who live in worry and haste.
Catching up with the hustle and bustle of life,
Then realize we're one of those groping in strife.
The purpose of us being sons of God begotten,
We've taken so lightly and find ourselves forgotten.
We forget we have a God, who sees us through,
Throughout every struggle, hurdle, pains and blues.
Despite all that, we find it hard to have time for God
And yet so easy to be caught up in worldly fads.
Recapturing true values lost in this dying age,
Getting back the youths to God, away from Satan's rage.
With the mission of bringing teens closer,
To God foremost, and to one another.
UYC's theme: Recapturing true values,
Let us all strive to be one that God can use.
By faith and vision, let us take a stand,
Strengthened together with God's mighty hand!

REFLECTIONS
Shimmering brook hear me sing
Dainty puffed clouds through the skylines wing
Yellow daffodils gaily dance away
Rush the cold winds rhythmic hideaway.
Let the golden leaves of autumn fall
May the morning breeze come to my call
Let the little child roll into the fallen leaves
Together with the joy of the summer breeze
Sandy old brook….listen to me sing…
Whisper the soft chills yester years bring
Come to me… back to where I once lay
That once draweth laughter of a new-born day.
Spectacles of jewels in the vast darkened space
Once cometh a life with unseemingly grace
Rested peacefully…like the faint brush of dawn
‘Twas a golden heart… thus, rejoicing to be born.
Sunken sleepy colors of the coded pink sky
For what is life that cannot be lived by
The fading colors that traversed the existence
One day'll come — heavenly magnificence.
