Hello again!
We’ve got some adventures lately… We just came from a very looong travel… we travelled going to Northern California by train which took 33 hours (Denver-Sacramento) and then rented a car going up North to go to David’s old town, Redding, to visit some old friends and at the same time, do some business there.
The experience in the train was really nice! It’s actually very comfortable… way much more comfortable than in a plane or in a car… but take the train only if you got the time :-) hehe (which we have) For all it’s worth, riding a train can get you to savor and see the beauty of the country and you get the opportunity to meet really nice people from different races and walks of life. We have gained more of an international perspective and were educated by it. We mostly got to talk and spend time with people from Europe and really made good friends with a couple from Germany… We even got some German down :-) hehe..
It is good to meet different kinds of people and travel to places, coz it is a motivation to learn languages other than English or that of your native language. You get to realize that the world is such a big place and full of things to learn and appreciate, there is so much you can learn just by talking to people from different places.
Anywayz, from Colorado, we passed through, Utah, then Nevada, and then California.. It’s just 3 states but it feels like it takes forever!!! The states are so big and so spread out! We got to see mountains and flat lands, snow & desert, rivers & lakes, animals like deer, buffalo, horses, cows, birds etc..
When we arrived Sacramento, (finally!!) it was so HOT! i even don’t remember it being that hot in the Philippines. It just hit me like a wall. Well, they said that day was excpetionally hot and is not like that all the time… but wow, talk about being ‘re-acclimated’ :-)
But, California is beautiful… it’s so green and sunny!… i was missing the Philippines coz I was seeing palm trees and with the temperature and being green everywhere, it just feels like home. (except California is cleaner and wider) hehehe
Anywayz, we took the car to go to our friend’s place up in Redding, stayed there for the night and they hosted us very well. David knows them since he was a little boy. And then, the following day, David took me to see where he used to go when he was in high school and where he used to live up in the mountains. It was very pretty but sad to say, it was getting dark… but it was beautiful. It was pretty cool to walk down memory lane with him… it is nice to see his life before we even met :-)
Going back was a pain in the butt.. LOL… it just took forever again! We passed through the mountains in California, then to Nevada, then to Utah, to Wyoming and then to Colorado.
It was quite an adventure, with me being on my second trimester. I bet the baby has a pretty good idea now of what it is like to be on the road :-)
I have new pictures uploaded on my pregnant state and in US living, California trip.
Hope you all are having a good week!
